Here you’ll find the The William B. Kolender San Diego County Sheriff’s Museum and Educational Center. The best part about this museum are the interactive exhibits. You can listen to live police calls, hop on a sheriff ’s motorcycle and turn on the sirens and lights. You can even get a close-up look at inmate clothing, jail-made weapons and tattoo kits, and put your hands on real jail cell bars. It’s enough to make anyone think twice about breaking the law. Best of all, admission is free.
They are open Tues.–Sat., 10 a.m.–4 p.m. and closed Sun. and Mon. Make sure to visit the museum’s gift store for T-shirts, bears, miniature sheriff’s vehicles and collectibles.
