In 1953 the brewery was purchased by a competitor from the midwest. The brand was later retired and disappeared from San Diego until 2008..

In 2008, John Webster discovered the brand and began bringing it back to life with his partner, Claudia Faulk. In 2010 they joined forces with brewer Rob Esposito. A year later they opened a small production brewery with tap room in Vista, California.

The current Aztec Brewing Company specializes in California-style beers and ales. They use the finest barley and wheat malts and fresh hops to produce their tasty beers. Come in and learn more about the Aztec Story and try the Cervezas Especiales.

Aztec Brewing uses choice malts and high quality hops. It costs more but you’ll agree it’s worth it. They want you to be able to savor the flavor before you taste it. Their selection of beers range in flavors mild to strong. The alcohol levels vary too. From a good kick back beer, to a beer that will kick you back.
